On April 17, 2023, at Plaza de España, Seville, a Cercle event featuring Mochakk triggered what investigators now call The Groove Singularity.

At 22:37 CET, during Terry Hunter’s remix of Workin’ Hard, an unprecedented energy spike—73% beyond the Iberian Peninsula’s total output—was recorded. Witnesses reported moving in two timelines at once, simultaneously present in 2023 and at a legendary NYC house party in 1994.

The track has since been erased from all official recordings. Agencies dispute whether Mochakk, Cercle, or Pioneer DJ’s Rekordbox software is responsible for the rupture in the fourth-dimensional continuum. The Defected Records Ibiza Incident of 2020—where a Carl Cox B2B Jamie Jones set nearly erased the summer of 1989—remains the only comparable case.

The mix you are about to hear is evidence. Play it carefully.

Pro tip: don’t text your ex at 3 AM

… or do, I'm not your mom.

Funny thing about the past, right? One minute you’re minding your business, and the next you’re three drinks deep, texting your ex from five years ago. Spoiler: it’s not a good idea.

But hey, that’s nostalgia for you.

"nostalgia trap" plays on that exact feeling. It pulls you in gently with "I Remember," setting the stage for quiet reflection. The track starts slow, mysterious, letting your imagination warm up before diving into memories you’ve tried to forget. Then, "Witch Doctor" slams in, throwing you into something obsessive and intense. The journey builds with hazy, drug-like tracks until clarity hits with "Little L", where the truth cuts through. By the time you reach "Inspector Norse", you’re free—but the tension’s still there, reminding you nostalgia is never simple.

Get ready, "reality slap" is coming soon, and the truth hits even harder.

Biography

Every mix tells a story.

For Zack Bissell, that story is as much about the music as it is about the emotional journey behind it.

Hailing from the heart of Brooklyn, Zack blends house, disco, and indie dance with an impeccable sense of craft and a deep commitment to connecting with his audience.

Each set is an experience—a narrative woven from beats, transitions, and moments that leave you both breathless and introspective.

But Zack isn’t just a DJ. He’s a creative powerhouse with roots on Broadway, a knack for storytelling, and a relentless drive to explore how sound can move people. His background as a union stage actor shaped his ability to build emotional arcs, and he brings that same level of intention and precision to every set he performs. Whether it’s his signature Disco Ascension mix or the raw, emotional rollercoaster of Nostalgia Trap: A DJ Mix for the Emotionally Unstable, Zack’s work is a masterclass in making music personal.

Achievements and Collaborations

Zack cut his teeth as a producer for Apple’s iconic DJ residencies, curating live performances in New York City’s most vibrant spaces, including Apple Fifth Avenue and Williamsburg.

He’s collaborated with industry legends like DJ CherishTheLuv, Jasmine Solano, and Just Blaze. He’s worked alongside up-and-coming talents to build events that are as much about community as they are about the music.

Zack has also been featured on platforms like Resident Advisor, Mixcloud, and VerseOne Distribution, where his mixes continue to attract attention for their storytelling depth and technical finesse.

In his tenure as a DJ, Zack has crafted a reputation as an artist who pushes boundaries.

He’s mastered the art of emotional progression in his sets, moving beyond the standard song-focused transitions to a style that feels cinematic—looping, layering, and building tension and release in ways that captivate audiences. It’s no wonder club bookers and industry insiders alike are starting to take notice.

The Vision

At the core of Zack’s artistry is his belief that music is about connection. Each set is a conversation—a dance floor dialogue between past and future, joy and heartbreak, chaos and clarity. He thrives on blurring the lines between genres, creating something that feels both familiar and groundbreaking.

Zack’s approach to DJing is deeply personal, but it’s always designed to make the listener feel something, whether they’re reliving the highs of their favorite club nights or reflecting on a love they’ve lost.

His work as a producer and storyteller also extends beyond the decks. Zack’s creative forge, Obsidian, is rooted in emotional resonance and technical excellence, blending sound and storytelling to craft unforgettable experiences. From building intricate mixes to designing immersive events, Zack is dedicated to creating spaces where people can lose themselves in the music and find something deeper in the process.

The Sound

Zack’s sound is best described as a fusion of house, disco, and indie dance, with elements of nostalgia and experimentation woven throughout. He draws inspiration from artists like Sam Divine, Kaytranada, and the legends of house music, while carving out his own unique sonic identity. His sets often juxtapose warm, soulful grooves with driving beats, creating a push- and-pull dynamic that keeps audiences hooked. Zack’s meticulous attention to detail shines through in every mix, making each transition a moment in itself.

What Sets Zack Apart

Zack isn’t just another DJ. His ability to tell a story with sound is unmatched, and his commitment to emotional storytelling sets him apart in a crowded field. Whether he’s headlining a club, building a mix for Spotify, or producing an event, Zack brings a level of intentionality and polish that’s rare in the industry. He’s not just spinning tracks—he’s crafting experiences that resonate long after the music stops.

Why Book Zack?

When you book Zack Bissell, you’re not just getting a DJ—you’re getting an artist who understands how to transform a set into an emotional journey. His performances leave a lasting impression, whether it’s a packed dance floor or an intimate lounge.

With Zack behind the decks, you can expect:

• Genre-blurring sets that appeal to diverse audiences.

• A masterful sense of pacing and emotional progression.

• A dedication to creating unforgettable moments on and off the dance floor.

Zack’s work isn’t just about music; it’s about connection, emotion, and the stories we tell ourselves through sound.

If you’re looking for a DJ who can elevate your event and leave audiences talking, Zack Bissell is your guy.
